KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 17): Vortex Consolidated Bhd's share price jumped 21.43% to a high of 8.5 sen on Thursday (Feb 17) morning in active trade.
At 9:58am, Vortex pared most of its gains and was up one sen, or 14.29%, to eight sen.
The company's trading volume was 107.4 million, 93.84% higher than its 200-day average volume of 17.43 million.
At eight sen, the company had a market capitalisation of RM58.57 million.
On Wednesday, Vortex appointed See Toh Kean Yaw as the group's executive director.
“See Toh is a chartered accountant of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants since June 2001 and a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, United Kingdom since May 2004.
“So far, he has concluded several tech and non-tech investments into several companies based in China and Southeast Asia and also successfully assisted portfolio companies' exit via IPO onto the Shanghai Stock Exchange and Hong Kong Stock Exchange,” said Vortex in a bourse filing.
He also served as an independent and non-executive director and audit committee member of Eka Noodles Bhd, Vortex said.
For the six months ended Sept 30, 2021, Vortex slipped to a net loss of RM733,000 against a net profit of RM812,000. Revenue for the period rose to RM89.66 million from RM86.71 million a year earlier.
