KUALA LUMPUR: Singapore-based Vodoke Pte Ltd, an IPTV solution provider, is seeking to claim from Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) a total of US$34.54 million (RM144.39 million) arising from a dispute in relation to orders of IPTV Package in 2015.
According to a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, Vodoke has referred its dispute with TM to arbitration under the Singapore International Arbitration Centre.
Vodoke wants TM to pay US$540,000 (RM2.26 million) owed from the initial order of 30,000 units of Vodoke’s “IPTV Package” in 2015, as well as an estimated US$34 million (RM142.13 million) worth of damages as a result of the breach of agreement.
Moreover, TM is to also pay “reasonable damages including but not limited to damages for the loss of advertising revenue, such damages to be assessed”, said the filing.
TM noted that it has instructed its solicitors to take the necessary steps to defend the claim, and shall make further announcements if there are any material developments in respect of this matter.
