KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 15): DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang described the late Tun S Samy Vellu as a great fighter, following the passing of the former MIC leader earlier on Thursday (Sept 15).

In a brief statement, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Iskandar Puteri said although Samy Vellu was responsible for the former’s seven-month suspension from Parliament in 1992, there was nothing personal between them as they had the greatest respect for each other.

“Samy Vellu was a great fighter and the country has lost a great son with his demise,” he said.
