KUALA LUMPUR (April 10): M101 Holdings Sdn Bhd today signed a RM88 million group purchase deal with ANB Group for M101 Bukit Bintang, which will house the world’s first monopoly hotel, Monopoly Mansion.
The 80 units, with built-ups up to 872 sq feet, are priced at RM1,800 per square feet, M101 Holdings said in a statement today.
“We are very pleased that in less than a month since we have licensed Monopoly from Hasbro, we have sold more than 80 units internationally,” said M101 Holdings chief executive officer Datuk Seth Yap.
“This is a testament of the market’s confidence in our brands: in both M101 and also Hasbro. We have also received a significant interest from Hong Kong through another partner agency, Metrohomes,” Yap added.
M101 is only opening up 100 units for sale and due to an overwhelming interest, have reserved 10 units for the local market so that Malaysians will have an opportunity to be part of the world’s first Monopoly-themed hotel.
Situated at Bukit Bintang, Monopoly Mansion will feature 255 rooms and is scheduled to open in 2019. It will be managed and operated by Sirocco, which manages M101 Holdings’ first hotel, RED by Sirocco, in Kuala Lumpur.
