KUALA LUMPUR (July 18): Kejuruteraan Asastera Bhd’s external auditor Siew Boon Yeong & Associates (SBYA) has voluntarily resigned due to the latter’s stretched resources and inability to cope with the company's stringent reporting timeline.

Pursuant to Section 281(2) of the Companies Act 2016, the end of SBYA's term of office shall be 21 days from July 16, 2018.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the company said the board is not aware of any matters that need to be brought to its shareholders’ attention. It added that the company will appoint another audit firm as the company's new auditors.

Further announcements will be made by the company in due course once the nomination of new auditors is finalised, said Kejuruteraan Asastera.

Shares of Kejuruteraan Asastera closed unchanged at 24.5 sen each, giving it a market capitalisation of RM78.4 million.
