KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 7): The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of heavy rain and more frequent thunderstorms in the afternoon to the evening, which are expected to occur in the states on the west coast of the peninsula from this Tuesday (Nov 8) until Nov 11.

In a tweet at 6.15am on Monday (Nov 7), MetMalaysia said that the areas involved are Perak, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor.

"This situation has the potential to produce continuous rain that can bring heavy rain and strong winds to the east coast of the peninsula from Nov 8 to 11,” it said.

The department had earlier issued a warning of continuous rain in Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang (Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin) and Johor (Mersing).
