KUALA LUMPUR (March 10): Credit reporting agency CTOS Digital Bhd has appointed Eric Hamburger (pictured) as its deputy group chief executive officer (CEO).
In a statement on Thursday (March 10), CTOS said Hamburger’s appointment to the newly-created role in September 2021 is to bolster the group’s strategic and operational leadership, particularly in the emerging areas of data analytics and digital platforms.
“A 28-year veteran in [the] corporate strategy and international credit reporting sector, he was previously the president and CEO of Experian Colombia and Mexico where he was instrumental in its transformation into a digital solutions provider,” it said.
CTOS added that Hamburger has been heavily involved in overseeing the group’s acquisition of fintech specialist Juris Technologies Sdn Bhd (JurisTech), which was approved by its shareholders on Feb 21, 2022, and is slated for completion in the first quarter of 2022.
“Hamburger will actively help lead CTOS throughout the expansion,” it noted.
Commenting on the appointment, CTOS CEO Dennis Martin said Hamburger brings immense value to the group’s team, which not only stems from his proven track record for building and scaling credit reporting in South America, but also from having been at the forefront of developing products and services into new verticals to achieve rapid yet sustainable growth.
“He is an important addition to the team and we are extremely pleased to bring his proven world-class calibre into the CTOS family,” Martin added.
Meanwhile, Hamburger said it is a privilege to work alongside the CTOS team at the cusp of its next growth chapter, adding that he is confident that the group is poised for greater accomplishments in the digital analytics space.
“The JurisTech acquisition, being the largest acquisition for CTOS, is one of the stepping stones towards our ultimate goal in the years to come,” he added.
At 2.58pm on Thursday, CTOS gained seven sen or 4.76% to RM1.54, giving it a market capitalisation of RM3.56 billion.
