KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 8): AirAsia Group Bhd will be changing its name to Capital A Bhd effective Thursday (Feb 10), according to Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd.
The stock exchange said the company's securities will be traded and quoted under the new stock short name “CAPITALA”.
Its seven-year redeemable convertible unsecured Islamic debt securities (RCUIDS) will be quoted as “CAPITALA-LA” and its warrants which expire in 2028 as “CAPITALA-WA”.
In early January this year, the low-cost airline said the proposed name change aims to give the group a new corporate identity that offers a better reflection of its core business and future undertakings in tandem with the company's rapid transformation from an airline into a digital travel and lifestyle services entity.
Shares in AirAsia closed 9.5 sen or 16.81% higher to 66 sen on Tuesday, giving it a market capitalisation of RM2.77 billion.
