KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 6): Top Glove Corporation Bhd has appointed Rowina Ghazali Seth and Dr Chong Su Lin as its independent and non-executive directors effective Friday.
Meanwhile, independent directors Datuk Kong Sooi Lin, 61 and Datuk Noripah Kamso, 65, retired from the board, the exchange filings showed on Friday.
The manufacturer of disposable rubber gloves said that Rowina, 61, is currently an independent non-executive director (INED) of Velesto Energy Bhd, where she is chairman of its risk management committee.
She is also a director of Hong Leong Islamic Bank Bank Bhd, where she is a member of the board audit and risk management committee and remuneration committee.
She is also an INED of UEM Edgenta Bhd and chairman of its nomination and remuneration committee as well as a member of the board governance and risk committee.
Rowina, who began her career at Shell, has more than 30 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
Her last position was director, government affairs at Shell Malaysia, building the function from inception and pioneering the lead role.
Meanwhile, Chong, 62, has been an INED of Cengild Medical Bhd since 2021.
She is also the chairman of the risk management committee, a member of the audit committee, remuneration committee, nominating committee as well as long-term incentive plan committee.
Chong is also an INED and chairman of the board nomination committee of AIA Bhd.
She is also a council member of Hospis Malaysia as well as INED of ECRI Bhd and director of Naluri Hidup Sdn Bhd.
Shares of Top Glove closed 1.65% or 1.5 sen lower at 89 sen, giving the company a market capitalisation of RM7.35 billion.
