KUALA LUMPUR (Apr 27): The Malaysian Association of Technican Analysts (MATA) is on track to achieve its target of having 1,000 full members by the year 2020.

Its president Datuk Dr Nazri Khan in a brief statement today told the edgemarkets.com that currently MATA had 620 members including brokers, remisiers and members of the public.

He said that the association last Saturday had its Technical Analysis Day with Bursa Malaysia and the International Federation of Technical Analysts (IFTA) as its VIP guests.

He said that MATA’s Sarawak Convention Bureau head Akramin Yusuf was also present, and that Sarawak had volunteered to host the IFTA World Conference in Kuching in October 2016.

Nazri said that if this came to fruition, global stock market personalities incuding John Bollinger, John J Murphy, Daniel J Zanger and others would be in attendance in Malaysia next year.

Bollinger is president and founder of Bollinger Capital Management, while author Murphy is an American financial market analyst, and is considered the father of inter-market technical analysis.

Zanger is a technical stock analyst and trader.
