KUALA LUMPUR (Apr 24): The city will see the 16th reincarnation of the country's leading food industry event — the Malaysian Food and Beverage Trade Fair (MIFB 2015) — next month, which will see Kuala Lumpur playing host to the world's leading buyers and suppliers in the food and beverage sector.
To be held in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from June 11-13, the trade fair — touted to be the largest and most innovative food tradeshow ever — will be welcoming close to 20,000 attendees this year, 80% of which control the purse strings of some of the world's leading food and beverage manufacturers.
In a statement today, the organiser of the fair Sphere Exhibits Malaysia Sdn Bhd said MIFB 2015 offers a platform for those in the industry to gain some insights into new processes and technologies, future industry trends, consumer needs, and ways to reduce cost as well as improve food safety, traceability and sustainability.
There will be some 300 exhibitors from 45 different countries and 12 international pavilions.
Some of the special features in this year’s fair include the international buyers programme, local buyers' invitation programme and business matching sessions.
MIFB 2015 will also be held in conjunction with the country’s first Seafood Safety and Trade Conference. 300 local and international delegates representing various segments of the seafood industry are expected to attend the two-day conference.
The event is also co-organised by Mutiara Sigma (M) Sdn Bhd.
