KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 4): Lembaga Tabung Haji chief financial officer Datuk Rozaida Omar today resigned from her positions in Main Market-listed TH Heavy Engineering Bhd (THHE) and Pelikan International Corp Bhd.

The pilgrim fund is the largest shareholder of THHE and Pelikan, with a 29.8% and 28.7% stake in the two companies, respectively.

In a stock exchange filing, THHE said Rozaida resigned as the group’s non-executive director as she “ceased to be the nominee of Lembaga Tabung Haji”. She was appointed as director of the loss-making oil and gas company in February 2016.

She has also been a non-executive director at stationery distributor Pelikan, since November 2008, before she resigned today “to focus on her other personal commitments”.

Rozaida, 55, is one of the four senior management staff named in two police reports lodged by Tabung Haji over the misuse of the pilgrim fund’s monies and for misrepresentation in a corporate deal.

The reports also named former office holders — namely former chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim, former chief executive officers, Tan Sri Ismee Ismail and Datuk Seri Johan Abdullah — as well as four senior management staff.

The four are Rozaida, chief operating officer Datuk Adi Azuan, legal adviser Hazlina Mohd Khalid and senior general manager for corporate services and real estate Rifina Md Ariff.

Shares of THHE closed unchanged at four sen today, while Pelikan’s shares fell two sen to close at a multi-year low of 37.5 sen.
