KUALA LUMPUR (March 15): Toll receipts will no longer be printed and issued at all PLUS Malaysia Bhd toll plazas from March 19 onwards.

The move is aimed at promoting smoother toll transaction and reducing congestion when users exit the highway, PLUS said in a statement today.

Alternatively, PLUS encourages highway users to register their PLUSMiles or Touch n' Go cards at the www.plusmiles.com.my and www.touchngo.com.my portals to enable them to obtain and print e-statements for their official travel claims.

"Upon registration, highway users can gain access to their electronic cards usage records such as transaction details and statements (including transactions for public transportation, parking services and others), card balance and expiry date, to name a few," it said.

"One of the main objectives of implementing the full electronic toll collection system is to promote faster and smoother transactions at the toll plaza," said PLUS chief operating officer Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi.

Zakaria explained that highway users who queue at the leftmost exit lane (multiclass lane) to obtain their toll receipts often affect traffic across all lanes.

"However, there are still some highway users who insisted on toll receipts to be printed as they pass through the toll lanes and this contributes to slower traffic movement and longer queues," Zakaria added.

According to PLUS, payment and reload records (previous three-month period) can also be easily accessed and retrieved at any time.

"Registered cardholders are only required to fill in their transaction dates using the search function to obtain their transaction record. They can also view their journey history and highway movement record through the online portals," it said.

In addition, commercial and heavy vehicle operators can also easily gain access to their transactions details and statement by registering for the PLUSTrack Programme membership loyalty programme, said PLUS.
